[edit] Overview

The idea behind Pet Dragons is that you are a Dragon Trainer raising and training a Dragon. The goal is to make your dragon the best it can be. There are many routes to take on the path to greatness, and you must decide which you will follow.

[edit] Getting Started

[edit] Naming Your Dragon

First things first, you must give your dragon a name. This name will be the primary way other trainers have to identify your dragon, and can be changed at any time. Your name is displayed on your Home Page, in the Elders Circle, and searches. When your dragon is displayed in Combat History, the name your dragon had when the fight occurred is displayed.

Your dragon's name must meet a few criteria:

  • Names may not contain leading or trailing spaces, or be blank
  • Names may not contain special characters, including \ and %
  • Names cannot contain HTML tags or formatting.
  • Names cannot be vulgar or offensive.
  • Names can be no longer than 50 characters in length.

The requirements for end spaces and HTML tags are enforced automatically. They will be stripped from the name and the name will be applied. If your name contains special characters, you will be asked to change it. Offensive names will be removed by the developers.

[edit] Changing Basic Settings

Once your dragon has a unique name, it's time to check out some of the other options in Settings. These include choosing your dragon's gender, writing a history for your dragon, and choosing your Dragon Image. Feel free to get creative. Making your dragon come alive is part of the PD experience.

[edit] Navigating Pet Dragons

Navigation through Pet Dragons is handled through primary sections or tabs located at the top left of the pages under the main Facebook banner. These primary sections include:

  • Home
  • Combat
  • Shop
  • Elders Circle
  • Earn Gold
  • Invite

Inside most of these primary tabs there are secondary tabs. These are located underneath the page header and advertisement banner. The secondary tabs differ for each section and give access to content relevent to the primary tab. For further information on secondary tabs please see the relevent section of the sitemap.

Finally, there is a set of links at the top right, at the same level as the primary tabs, that link the user to several useful Pet Dragons sites and features.
